Samy's Camera Photo Camp is a fun, hands-on after school photography class that teaches fundamental concepts (like composition, color & perspective) while covering different fields of photography (e.g. Fashion, Food, Sports, Photojournalism). The final class is comprised of a graduation ceremony complete with diplomas, slideshow, and gallery showing of the students' framed photographs.
Alumni are invited back for our Advanced Class. There are three different advanced classes per year, each featuring fun new photography techniques (like black & white) and photo exercises (like water droplet reflection and studio lighting), plus video production.
Samy's Camera, the West Coast's biggest photography center since 1976, is delighted to share their singular love and knowledge with the next generation of shutterbugs. Created in 2009, Samy's Camera Photo Camp teaches students across Los Angeles that photography can and does change the world, especially our own.
Photo Camp is run by Samy’s Camera’s Deborah Cloyed. Deborah has ten years experience as photographer, author and instructor, in addition to many years in sales and teaching at Samy's Camera.
